Product Overview
The 1771-IBN is a discrete input module from Allen-Bradley. It belongs to the bulletin 1771 product family. This module provides 32 input channels. Each channel accepts 10-30VDC signals. The module interfaces with switches and sensors. It uses a 1771-WN wiring arm. The front panel has 32 LED indicators. These LEDs show the status of each channel. The module has input filtering to reduce noise. It also includes optoelectrical isolation for system protection. This module fits in 1771 I/O chassis. Examples include the 1771-A1B through 1771-A4B. It supports 1/2 and 1-slot addressing. The backplane current draw is 280mA at 5VDC. Maximum power dissipation is 16.4 Watts.
Application Scenarios
Use the 1771-IBN in industrial control systems. It works with PLC-5 processors. Connect dry-contact switches to the inputs. It also works with electro-mechanical transmitters. Use it with selector switches and pushbuttons. The module handles source-switching devices. It is ideal for factory automation. It also suits process control applications. The 32 channels allow many signals in one module. This saves space in the control panel. The wiring arm simplifies field wiring changes. You can replace the module without rewiring.
