Product Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1794-ACNR15 is a redundant ControlNet adapter module. It belongs to the Flex I/O product family. This device mounts on a DIN rail. It provides dual ControlNet ports for redundant data highway. The adapter supports up to eight Flex I/O modules. It uses ControlNet protocol version 1.5. Data transfer speed is 5 Mbps. The module requires a 24 V DC external supply. Input voltage range is 19.2 to 31.2 V DC. Power consumption is 400 mA maximum. The unit dissipates 3.4 W at 19.2 V DC. Its dimensions are 87 x 94 x 69 mm. Weight is 0.26 kg (0.56 lbs). LED indicators show status for I/O, Comm A, and Comm B.

Application Scenarios
This adapter is ideal for distributed I/O in industrial automation. It ensures reliable communication in ControlNet networks. It automatically switches to the backup trunk if one fails. Common applications include manufacturing plants, process control, and material handling. It works with any combination of Flex I/O modules. Use it to build a redundant control system. It suits environments with temperature ranges from -25 to 55 °C. The module withstands vibration up to 5 g at 10-500 Hz. It handles operational shock of 30 g.

Installation & Maintenance Guide
Mount the module on a DIN rail. Secure it with a screwdriver at 7 pound-inches. Connect external power to terminals. Use 22-12 AWG copper wire with 75 °C insulation. For double wire, use 22-16 AWG. Do not intermix solid and stranded wire. Connect each ControlNet trunk to the BNC ports. The module automatically handles redundancy. No manual switching needed. LED indicators help with troubleshooting. Keep the module clean and dry. Ensure proper ventilation around the unit. Check connections periodically for tightness. Replace the module only when power is off.
