Product Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1771-IBD is a discrete input module from the 1771 series. It provides sixteen input channels. Each channel accepts 10 to 30 VDC sink signals. The module uses optoelectrical isolation to protect system circuits from electrical transients. It also includes input filtering to reduce electrical noise. The front panel has one green status LED and sixteen red LEDs for channel status. Keying bands are placed between pins 16 and 18 for the upper connector and between pins 10 and 12 for the lower connector.
This module is compatible with all 1771 I/O chassis except 1771-A1, -A2, and -A4. It uses a 1771-WH field wiring arm for easy connection. The wiring arm simplifies maintenance. You can remove and install it without disconnecting wires.

Application Scenarios
The 1771-IBD connects to field devices like switches, sensors, and auxiliary contacts. These devices provide ON/OFF or binary status signals. The module is ideal for monitoring and control in PLC systems. Its filtering and isolation features suit noisy industrial environments. Typical applications include conveyor systems, packaging machines, and assembly lines.
