Product Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1766-L32BXBA MicroLogix 1400 PLC delivers 32 built-in I/O. It accepts 24V DC power. It stores 20 KB of programs and data. Its Ethernet port supports DNP3 protocol. The controller also offers a web server and email. Two serial ports support DH485, DF1, Modbus RTU, DNP3, and ASCII.
Application Scenarios
Engineers use this PLC for small to medium automation. It controls machines, packaging lines, or material handling. It operates in clean, dry industrial environments. The high-speed counters handle fast pulse signals. The ports connect to HMIs, SCADA, and other devices.

Technical Specifications
Power and Input/Output
The 1766-L32BXBA requires 24V DC. It includes twelve fast 24V DC inputs. The controller also provides eight normal 24V DC inputs. Two analog inputs accept 0-10V DC. Outputs include six relay contacts, three fast DC, and three normal DC. The controller includes two analog voltage outputs. It also supports up to six 100 kHz high-speed counters on DC input models.
Communication
One isolated RS232/485 combo port and one non-isolated RS232 port provide serial connections. One Ethernet port supports DNP3, Modbus TCP, and EtherNet/IP. Serial protocols include DF1, ASCII, Modbus RTU, DNP3, and DH485.

Memory and Expansion
The controller has 20 KB internal memory for user programs and data. A replaceable battery backs up RAM. Engineers can add the 1766-MM1 memory module for 384 KB extra storage. The controller accepts up to seven 1762 expansion I/O modules. It also features a built-in real-time clock.
Installation & Maintenance Guide
Mount the controller on a DIN rail or panel. Use an open enclosure. Supply 24V DC power. Wire I/O devices as per wiring diagrams. Install a 1746-BA battery for memory backup. The built-in real-time clock supports time-based control. Set protocol parameters in software.
