Product Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1794-IF4I is a Flex I/O isolated analog input module. It has four isolated channels. Each channel handles voltage or current signals. You can configure signals like 4-20 mA or ±10 V. The module offers a 16-bit unipolar resolution. For bipolar signals, resolution is 15 bits plus sign. This module provides high accuracy. It has 0.1% full scale accuracy at 25 °C. The built-in Sigma-Delta ADC ensures reliable conversion. Update rates range from 2.5 ms to 7.5 ms. The 1794-IF4I also includes a bi-colored status LED. This LED shows power-up reset or configuration modes. It also indicates hardware test failures. This module works with many terminal bases. Examples are 1794-TB2 and 1794-TB3. It uses a 24 V DC external power supply. The power supply range is 19.0 to 31.2 V DC. The module suits DIN rail mounting. It operates from 0 to 55 °C. Storage temperature is -40 to 85 °C.

Application Scenarios
This module fits in many industrial control systems. It works well in factory automation and process control. Use it for monitoring pressure or temperature. It also serves in flow measurement systems. The isolated channels prevent ground loops. This makes it ideal for noisy environments. It can handle vibration up to 5 g. Operating shock tolerance is 30 g. Non-operating shock reaches 50 g. The module works in extreme temperatures. It also works in high-humidity conditions. Many industries use it for reliable data acquisition. Examples include oil and gas, water treatment, and manufacturing. The 1794-IF4I integrates with Flex I/O systems easily. It connects to Rockwell Automation controllers. It supports both voltage and current inputs. This flexibility fits various sensor types. You can use it with 4-20 mA transmitters. It also works with ±10 V output sensors.
Technical Specifications
The module has specific electrical characteristics. It draws 50 mA from the FlexBus. External power supply current is 80 mA at 24 V DC. Power dissipation is 2.0 W at 31.2 V DC. Thermal dissipation is 6.8 BTU/hr at 31.2 V DC. The input resolution values are exact. For voltage: 0.156 mV/cnt unipolar and 0.313 mV/cnt bipolar. For current: 0.320 µA/cnt unipolar and 0.640 µA/cnt bipolar. Step response depends on conversion rate. At 1200 Hz, response is 0.6 ms. At 150 Hz, response is 26.7 ms. The module has an absolute accuracy drift. For voltage, drift is 0.0028% full scale/°C. For current, drift is 0.0038% full scale/°C. The enclosure is open type. It ships with no terminal base. You must order the base separately. Compatible bases include 1794-TB3S and 1794-TBN. Isolation voltage depends on the base. It reaches 120 V continuous with some bases. With 1794-TBN, it goes up to 250 V.

Installation & Maintenance Guide
Mount the module on a DIN rail. Use a 35 mm rail. Connect the terminal base first. Then snap the module onto the base. Wire the signals according to your configuration. Use wire sizes as per terminal base. The module needs a 24 V DC external supply. Connect the supply to the correct terminals. Do not exceed 31.2 V DC. The status LED helps during setup. A flashing green LED means configuration mode. A steady red LED shows a hardware fault. You can recalibrate the module if needed. It arrives factory-calibrated. To recalibrate, use proper tools. Keep the module within operating temperature. Ensure proper ventilation around it. Do not expose it to condensation. Check connections periodically for tightness. Replace the module if the LED stays red.
