Product Overview
The Allen-Bradley 1771-ID16 is a 120V AC/DC isolated input module. It is part of the 1771 Digital AC/DC Input Modules for PLC-5 processors. This module features customer-selectable input filtering. It suppresses voltage transients from contact bounce or radiated noise. The result is improved power quality. It enhances product longevity and minimizes downtime. The module has a factory-set filter time of 9 ms. Due to filtering, typical signal delay for AC off is 9 or 18 ms. For DC off, delay is 9 ms. For on delays, typical is 0.57 ms. The module uses capacitive impedance input. This creates initial current flow.

The module works with 1771-A1B or 1771-A4B I/O chassis. It requires a 1771-WN wiring arm for connections. The wiring arm attaches to the pivot bar. This allows removal or insertion without disconnecting wires. The module is built for isolated multi-phase applications.

Application Scenarios
Use the 1771-ID16 with various input devices. It works well with float switches, selector switches, limit switches, and pushbuttons. It is suitable for industrial control systems needing AC or DC input detection. Typical applications include conveyor systems, packaging machines, and assembly lines. The module handles environments with high electrical noise. Its filtering capability ensures reliable signal detection.
